Adeyeye Adeola, a celebrated Nigerian chef popularly known as Chef Deo, is attempting to break Hilda Baci’s previous record for the longest cooking marathon.
Adeola’s cook-a-thon was held at the Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State and it began on June 30 and was supposed to end on July 6, 2023.
Another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, often known as Chef Dammy, recently finished a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State in order to push the limits of gastronomic endurance. The longest cooking marathon (person) record is now held by Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, who finished it in an amazing 93 hours and 11 minutes.
From May 11 to May 15, she sought to shatter the record by producing more than 100 pots of food in just four days. After carefully reviewing the relevant data, Hilda Baci’s achievement has been formally acknowledged by Guinness World Records.
Chef Deo, who intends to break Hilda Baci’s record, has now continuously prepared food for more than 14 hours.
“We are on a mission to break a Guinness World Record as we embark on a 150-hour Cook-a-thon.
“Your support and encouragement is needed to make us stronger.” Adeyeye tweeted.
