Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda and South African rapper Nasty C team up for Philo Remix.
The release of this new song follows Bella Shmurda’s first official single for 2023 – “ARA” (Gen Gen Ti).
Philo was originally released in 2022, the hit single featured Omah Lay and was featured on Bella’s debut album entitled Hypertension.
According to Bella; “Philo” is also a love song. I just spoke to a woman and told her there was nothing I wouldn’t do for her. I finished the song and played it to Omah Lay to see if he liked it.
I didn’t want to expose him to that; I just played it to a friend and colleague to see if he could pull it offhand suggestions for improvement.
But he quickly said, “Hey, I’ll jump on it,” and that’s what happened.”South African rapper Nasty C heard the hit in 2022 and called Bella Shmurda to congratulate him on his masterpiece.
He also expressed an interest in getting into vinyl, which led to Philo Remix.
